City Year celebrates 10 years!

On Thursday, Scott spent the evening with City Year which celebrated their 10th Anniversary and honored longtime supporters, Bill Gates Sr and Mimi Gardner Gates. The Seattle Sheraton’s main ballroom filled to capacity with the area’s top foundations and corporate sponsors like Microsoft, Boeing, Nordstrom, Metlife Foundation, Bank of America, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Davis Wright Tremaine, Costco, and Starbucks, to name a few. We provided City Year with photos they chose to use on banners, brochures and centerpieces.

Everyone came for the auction, which by the end of the evening, raised more than $440,000 for the organization that “believes young people can change the world if only they are given the skill and opportunity to do so”. Since its founding, City Year corps with more than 10,000 volunteers, gave in excess of 16 million hours of service to tutor and mentor more than 1 million children in need throughout the US and in South Africa. We salute City Year’s corps and staff! It was an inspiring and wonderful evening!
