Each year, Senator Maria Cantwell honors women who have dedicated their lives to help our communities. This week at Seattle’s Westin Hotel, she celebrated ten for their commitment to deliver services that benefit people, animals, and the environment, including Mimi Gates – Arts and Cultural Diversity, Michele Rosen – Philathropists Cultivating Global Leadership, Cynthis Stroum – Health Advocacy, Lua Pritchard – Community Development, and Nancy Nordhoff – Women’s Advocacy. King County Exec hopeful, Dow Constantine, opened the celebration and special guest, Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of the Humane Society, concluded the private event. As photographers, we are fortunate to have met and worked for many local and national figures at the area’s large political and corporate functions, having covered events over the last 4 years for Governor Gregoire, Senators Murray and Cantwell, Representative McDermott, the Progressive Majority and the Washington Policy Center. It’s exciting, brisk and at times, exacting, especially where it concerns the Secret Service! We love it and feel privileged for the opportunity.
