We try to stay ahead of blogging but sometimes time runs out and we’ve moved on to other events. Though we always blog weddings, we’re at less than 50% on corporate, political and non-profit events, however, this one – which I shot in late October, last year, is now relevant. I had the distinct honor of meeting and photographing Freedom Rider Congressman John Lewis as he campaigned for Representative Jim McDermott at Seattle’s historical Arctic Club Hotel. Unlike most political events, this was tiny in comparison. Breakfast for about 200 with a private reception of about 20. As soon as I was briefed by Rep McDermott’s staff about who their special guest was a couple of days earlier, I googled him but it didn’t prepare me for the experience of meeting him and hearing him speak.
