You already know Red Fish Blue Fish always comes as a pair (from two complete teams of photographers), well, other services for Danielle and Jakob also came in twos.  The unbeatable combination of great tasting food and spot-on service by Ravishing Radish combined with the stylish event site, The Sanctuary at Admiral, for instance.  Then musically, the handsome couple chose the sublime Bottom Line Duo who began the afternoon with their usual chamber music with an added dash of heavy metal and rock uniquely woven in, while the incomparable Bamboo Beats rocked, yes, ROCKED the rest of the night away!

Ahhh…A Country Location – one of our favorite places to shoot!  Big ol’ barn, windmill, trout pond, horseshoe pit, croquet, tall grass and open spaces.  Just about everything to remind you that you’re not in the city.  Joanna and Morgan kept with the theme by having friends and family chip-in to bring their celebration all together.  They supplied the beautiful flowers and centerpieces and cake, and friends from his culinary art school grilled up and served the city-fancy and very tasty un-country feast.  The entree?  Salmon caught by his brother.  Even the weather chipped in with one of our last-of-summer blue skies.

We love destination weddings especially to fabulous places we’ve never been, and Cave B?  Absolutely fabulous!  Perched on the dry, rocky slopes just short of The Gorge amphitheater, the ceremony site at Sagecliffe overlooked the Columbia river gorge with distant, crystal clear vistas of cliffs leading to the waterway.  Another great thing about Cave B?  Situated in eastern Washington, the sun seems always shining!  Pat from A Heavenly Ceremony created another one of her lovely, touching ceremonies.  The wine blending; taking two different wines that are uniquely them, was an oh-so-sweet moment that fit in perfectly amongst the vines and grapes.  I could not get enough of beautiful Andrea and her cage veil.  Isn’t that just the prettiest accessory ever?  Super yummy Trophy Cupcakes made the long trip across the mountains and so did the fabulous team from Bamboo Beats, who rocked the party, as they always do…

It was a perfect fall day in downtown Seattle for Laura & Nick’s wedding at The Ranier Club.  The mood was elegant and sophisticated with a Scottish flare as the groomsmen all donned kilts and the bride maids were in black.  Guests arriving knew they were in the right place from the sound of the bagpipes in the crisp autumn air.  Tradition gave way to food and fun at the reception as glasses were raised in many a heartfelt toast to the couple, and heels were kicked up to show some stellar dance moves – check out the groom!  Captured by Toni and Mya.

Two years old and his fourth photo shoot!  I think the highlights for him were moving a pile of rocks and eating grapes straight from the vine.  He brought along his dad’s old Fisher-Price barn-which is still in fabulous shape.  After he made all the animal sounds, he stuffed everyone inside the hayloft.  For us, the highlight was getting to capture this wonderful growing family yet again.

Two worlds were brought together with a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Alexis Hotel in downtown Seattle as family and friends from near and far came to celebrate the union of Jennifer and Gavin.  Jennifer became a new favorite aunt to nieces and nephews from South Africa, who proudly performed a formal waltz at the reception in honor of her day.  Another sunny fall day gave the wedding party a chance to sneak away to Pike Place Market for some of our favorite shots!  Photographed by Toni and Audrey.

2009 will likely go down as one of the greatest summer for weddings here in the NW.  It’ll be remembered for the one period of sultry, 100+degree days but also for the many, many gentle and warm afternoons of endless blue like this one – Alana and Tim’s special day.  It followed us from their ceremony at the stately and historic St. James Cathedral, jaunts through the city’s famous urban sites and waterfront and finally, to the beautiful confines of West Seattle’s The Hall of Fauntleroy.  But of all the weddings this summer, how will we remember this one?  A jab at Tim’s profession as an eastside policeman – wedding guest favors of scrumptious and beautifully decorated Top Pot Donuts! That’s how!

A new addition to the family means it’s time for a new photo session!  Of course, it’s so great for us because we shot Beth and Mark’s wedding about 4 years ago and we get to see them each time their family grows a little bit more;  this keeps us in touch.  Last time it was beautiful photos of 2 week old Cecelia and this time, it’s Elena at about 4 weeks.  We love going up to their beautiful home overlooking the Fall City valley.

Each year, the area’s free-market think-tank, Washington Policy Center, celebrates its achievements and honors local and national figures.  This year, developer Bill Conner, received the prestigious, Stanley O. MacNaughton Champion of Freedom Award on a day when headliner and special guest – author, movie star, Nixon-speech-writer, economist, Ben Stein, regaled the happy audience with his unique humor and global economic perspectives, accepted the WPC’s Columbia Award; given each year to one who exemplifies a commitment to free market principles and strong public leadership.  Past Columbia awardees included Czech Republic President, Vaclav Klaus, former Gov Jeb Bush and journalist George Will.  Red Fish Blue Fish was there to capture those events as well!  We began the day with the usual intimate luncheon at the Rainier Club while the Center’s largest-ever crowd packed the ballrooms of the Seattle Sheraton Hotel for the endless reception line and evening event.

It was a cool, blustery day but Tina and Zach were so swept-up in love, it didn’t matter.  Giddy and so into each other, they seemed to forget about our 4 cameras and lens focused on them – just the way we like it!  Hotel 1000 provided the chic corner suite and an atrium for naturally lit portraits and as the weather cleared, Ray’s Boathouse boardwalk and iconic sign gave us the backdrop we needed on this end of summer celebration.
